White T Shirt Party

Heeeeyyy!! :D We would like to start off by thanking everyone who has been a part of The Gov- supporters and members- for keeping the hype and expanding the brand! :D

A White T Shirt. The most basic item of clothing that everyone should own and thanks to us, we found the best use for one at our very first White T Shirt Party at Marafco Pretoria on 24th November 2012! The basic idea was to wear a white T, find the marking pens provided and write all over the shirts sharing messages, bbm pins, twitter handles etc. with other party people. New friends were made, some lovers were gained and it was all in good fun.

The atmosphere was fun and chilled, ensuring everyone enjoyed the party; we certainly did ;) A Big Shout Out to Eddy King who tooks fantastic photos at the party and DJ Bongz for making sure we danced until the sun came up! And A Big Shout Out to you for joining us on the night! :)

Vintage vs Retro PhotoShoot

Finally The Gov's talk of a photoshoot was made a reality with some of the hippest coolest kids in JHB getting together for the love of Vintage and Retro Fashion!!

On the 3rd November 2012 at Kospotong Newtown, Johannesburg is where it all went down. The photoshoot brought together the two elements of the classic styles of Vintage and Retro bringing back the styles from the 1920's all the way to the 1990's with a twist of modern flavor that made the shoot one to remember!

A Big Shout Out to the organizers 'No Odhdar & King Clive' who made it all happen and inviting The Gov to be a part of it. We hope you get inspired by the shoot and give us :feedback on whatyou think!  :)

Elphonic - Aura Mixtape

First and foremost, Happy Birthday To Elphonic!!!

Music is never music if it doesnt come from the heart and this artist is the perfect example of a rapper that understands the craft that is music. Hardworking, driven and ambitious, Elphonic is one of the most prominent up and coming rappers from Limpopo and has made his mark in music not only in SA, but even raking in reviews from other African countries.

His first major project, The Aura Mixtape, is groundbreaking and interesting, offering different genres and elements to music listeners around. It is not often that you get to see one artist, capture all this in one project. He is clearly very talented and should be someone that everyone watches out for in the future (and we cannot wait for the "Away" Music Video!) :)

Today is not only his birthday but the date of release of his bonus track from the Aura Mixtape released in June. Listening to it, it is very different from the other tracks that are on the mixtape. This song is what he likes to call his "Mature Music". We respect Elphonics craft and his dedication and wish him the best with his career. Mizo Phyll 3-Day Birthday Bash

On the 18th of October, we celebrated the Birthday of one of the most well known rappers from Limpopo, Venda! A three day long bash that started in Nordway Heights Pretoria all the way home to Venda ensured a party that was one to remember for the birthday boy Mizo Phyll and those who attended. Day two was hosted in BullPen where performances by FWO, Adolf, King Izzy, Toofab, Kalawa artists and many more took the stage.
